Common questions
What counts as a host?
Any machine, VM, or Kubernetes node running a collector or agent that reports to Sentinel. Containers on a host are included in that host.
Is tracing billed separately?
No. Traces from services on a host are included in its price. Span volume above the plan’s allowance is billed per million spans.
Do I pay to index logs?
No. Logs are billed by the gigabyte ingested. Searching them, building patterns, and live tail are included.
What happens if traffic spikes?
Nothing is dropped or throttled. Volume above your allowance is billed at the overage rates on this page, and you can set a budget alert in organization settings.
Do I need a card to start?
No. Pro starts as a 14-day trial. Add a payment method from Billing before it ends; cards are handled by our payment provider and never reach Sentinel.
